Come And Take A Look At The Usage Guide For Diesel Engines

Jul 06, 2021

According to the national standard (GB252-87), the specifications of light diesel oil are divided into six grades according to the freezing point of 10, 0, -10, -20, -35 and -50, indicating that the freezing point is not higher than 10℃, 0℃, -10 ℃, -20℃, -35℃ and -50℃; the higher the grade, the lower the freezing point.

Diesel is a special fuel used in compression ignition engines (ie diesel engines). The appearance of diesel oil is water white, light yellow or brown liquid. Diesel is divided into light diesel and heavy diesel. Light diesel is the fuel used in high-speed diesel engines above 1000r/min, and heavy diesel is the fuel used in low- and medium-speed diesel engines below 1000r/min. Generally, the diesel sold at gas stations is light diesel. The standard implemented for light diesel products is the GB 252-2000 "Light Diesel" standard. The grades of diesel in this standard are divided into No. 10, No. 5, No. 0, No. -10, No. -20, No. -35, No. -50, The classification of diesel grades is based on the freezing point of diesel.

The cold filter plugging point is an important index to measure the low temperature performance of light diesel, which can reflect the actual low temperature performance of diesel, and is closest to the actual minimum use temperature of diesel. The user should take into account the local temperature and the cold filter plugging point corresponding to the diesel brand at the same time when selecting the diesel brand. The cold filter plugging point of No. 5 light diesel oil is 8°C, the cold filter filter point of No. 0 light diesel oil is 4°C, the cold filter plugging point of No. 10 light diesel oil is -5°C, and the cold filter filter point of No. 20 light diesel oil is -14 ℃.

Brand selection

According to the requirements of GB 252-2000 standard, the following principles should be followed when selecting light diesel oil grades:

1. No. 10 light diesel is suitable for diesel engines with preheating equipment;

2. No. 5 light diesel oil is suitable for use in areas where the lowest temperature with a risk rate of 10% is above 8°C;

3. No. 0 light diesel oil is suitable for use in areas where the lowest temperature with a risk rate of 10% is above 4°C;

4. -10 light diesel oil is suitable for use in areas with a risk rate of 10% where the lowest temperature is above -5°C;

5. -20 light diesel oil is suitable for use in areas where the lowest temperature with a risk rate of 10% is above -14°C;

6. -35 light diesel is suitable for use in areas where the lowest temperature with a risk rate of 10% is above -29°C;

7. -50 light diesel oil is suitable for use in areas where the lowest temperature with a risk rate of 10% is above -44℃;
